Honoring the Courage of
Vijay Kumar Mehto
Our foundation’s origin traces back to a heroic act on January 21, 1997. A seventeen-year-old domestic helper, Vijay “Bikau” Mehto, courageously shielded a child during a brutal home invasion, absorbing fatal wounds to save a life.
"I am the protector of your family."
Inspired by his selflessness, the survivor, Mamta Shukla, established Vijay Foundation in 2017 to channel that raw courage into systemic social change. Today, we carry forward his legacy by protecting the vulnerable.
