About Vijay Foundation

Vijay Foundation is a leading government-registered NGO serving the Delhi–NCR region, founded on 7 July 2017 in memory of Vijay Kumar Mehto, lovingly known as “Bikau.”

At just 17, Bikau lost his life while protecting a child during a violent home invasion in 1997, leaving behind a legacy of courage, sacrifice, and human dignity that continues to inspire the foundation’s work.

Constituted as a public charitable trust under the Indian Trusts Act, Vijay Foundation holds 80G and 12A income tax exemptions, NITI Aayog registration (ID: UP/2018/0198217), and CSR registration (No.: CSR00075840), ensuring regulatory compliance and tax-efficient giving.

With a disciplined zero administrative overhead policy, every rupee donated is channelled directly into programs that impact lives on the ground.

Over the years, Vijay Foundation has emerged among the most respected NGOs in Delhi–NCR, implementing more than 50 documented initiatives between 2017 and 2025 and reaching thousands of beneficiaries across slums, schools, corporates, and judicial institutions.

Its work spans women’s empowerment and POSH compliance, child protection under the POCSO Act, literacy and education, environmental conservation, free legal aid, health camps, and disability rights advocacy.

The foundation’s collaborative model brings together Delhi Police, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), government schools and colleges, judiciary bodies, and corporates such as HPCL, GAIL, RBI, and PNB to co-create impactful interventions.

Guided by the core values of Courage, Empathy, Integrity, and Commitment, Vijay Foundation works relentlessly to build a more just, equitable, and compassionate society.

Vijay Foundation is built on the principle of “Human Social Responsibility” – the belief that by educating, protecting and uplifting others, society moves forward together.
