Focus Areas and Programs
Vijay Foundation’s work is organized into five core domains, each with targeted grassroots programs:
Education & Literacy
The foundation runs reading/writing workshops instilling moral values, and provides free tuition and study materials to underserved children (especially in slums and low-income neighborhoods). It offers vocational courses in fields like beauty and grooming, computers, pottery, painting, and legal assistant training to prepare participants for livelihoods. Soft-skills training, sports activities, and exam-motivation sessions enhance overall development. The foundation also supports education through prizes for school examinations and donates CCTV cameras (e.g. a ₹25,000 CCTV unit) to improve classroom security. Through partnerships with municipal schools (Sarvodaya) and organizations like Sai Vidhya Noida, it helps hundreds of students (classes VI–XI) achieve academic gains.
Social Causes & Awareness
Programs address issues like drug abuse, child labor, domestic violence, and senior welfare. Initiatives include anti-drug and child labor awareness seminars, street plays on social themes, health camps, mental wellness webinars, and COVID-19 relief distributions. The foundation works with Delhi Police to bolster helplines for violence and supports senior citizen well-being. These campaigns have reached thousands in both community and institutional settings, raising awareness and driving social change.
Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment
Vijay Foundation actively promotes women’s rights and safety. It conducts health and education programs on women’s issues (maternal health, menstrual hygiene), and trains women and girls in vocational skills like stitching. Certified trainer Mamta Shukla leads POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) workshops and self-defense classes, raising awareness of workplace harassment and personal safety. The foundation also organizes specialized workshops for adolescent girls (in collaboration with Nestlé) on identity, nutrition, and hygiene. Through these efforts, hundreds of women, students, and professionals have gained knowledge and confidence to assert their rights.
Environmental Protection
The foundation organizes urban greening and cleanliness drives. Notable actions include large tree-planting events in Dwarka, plastic-free campaigns in a dozen schools, community clean-up and sanitation projects (in partnership with Resident Welfare Associations), and participation in the Green Delhi Mission. It also supports construction and repair of toilets/sewage systems in public areas. These initiatives promote sustainable living and have engaged local communities and schools to create greener, healthier neighborhoods.
Free Legal Aid & Awareness
n collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority and legal experts, Vijay Foundation provides free legal counseling and workshops on rights and laws. It addresses POCSO (children’s protection), POSH, consumer rights, RTI, and disability rights (CRPD) through camps and hotlines, ensuring underprivileged citizens understand and can exercise their rights under Article 39A (legal aid) of the Constitution. These programs improve access to justice for marginalized groups.
